Since 2007 I teach beginners how to write their first programs and help professionals how to get better at what they do. I've done this in classrooms and online via Zoom and Teams but when Covid hit, I was forced to turn my classroom courses into online courses.

I love standing in front of students, so I first hated online courses. But then I started to see the benefits. First of all, it is easy to preview the course to get an impression of the teaching style before enrolling in a course.

A teacher with a Pause Button

Once you enroll, you can follow the course in your own tempo. Slow down, speed up, skip chapters, and best of all...no need to wait in traffic to go to a dusty class room! Sit in your underwear behind the computer and enjoy the show. Since everything is already online, downloading extra materials is as easy as clicking them. Yes, online courses are great. You get me as teacher, but with a Pause Button.

I started to love it

So what I hated at first, I started to love. And got better at it each day. After 5 years I even got quite good at making online courses! It allows me to combine many things I love: Teaching, Programming, Audio and Video editing and Storytelling.

But there was one thing I did not do until today. And that is publish courses on my own website. Until now, I've used third party platforms like Udemy to offer them. It's great that they take care of student management and payments but...

I have a dream!

My dream is to have my OWN ACADEMY!

For this, I need to host my own material, do all the marketing and student management. And how to start with this? Just like everything: Just do it. In the coming months, this website will host my first courses.
